GUANGZHOU, China, Sept. 28, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Hitachi Elevator has recently been engaged in the construction of support facilities at Guangzhou Baiyun, Hefei West, and Changsha West railway stations, providing the three public transportation hubs with a total package consisting of various elevators and escalators, as well as related aftersales and maintenance services, in a move to add convenience, efficiency, safety and intelligence to China's modern railroad network.
In 2022, China accelerated its efforts to build the main framework of the national comprehensive transport network, and is on track to add more than 3,300 km of new railroad lines throughout the year. According to the guidelines on developing a modern comprehensive transportation system, China's high-speed rail network will be extended to include 8 north-south and 8 east-west high-speed trunk lines, providing service to more than 95% of the cities with a population of 500,000 or more.

The Hitachi AI video analysis management system can detect safety risks to passengers riding the escalators through camera surveillance. If passengers become stranded, suddenly try to reverse direction, slip and fall, or are attempting to carry large items such as baby carriages or large pieces of luggage, the system will send early warnings or take predictive measures to prevent accidents.
At present, 10 cities, including Xi'an, Chongqing, Foshan and Zibo, have adopted Hitachi Elevator's integrated solutions into their high-speed railway projects.
